Description: The Arethusa was a Royal Navy Frigate. Built by the French in1757 she was captured by the British in 1759 and re-named The Arethusa. This is a tune that is included in ‘Fantasia on British Sea Songs’ by Sir Henry Wood. It is played on ‘The last night of the Proms’ (The Promenade Concerts) at the Royal Albert Hall every Summer.
